Half Height Lockers at Stirchley Community Primary School
Based in the heart of Stirchley Village in Birmingham, Stirchley Community School contacted 3D Lockers with a requirement for some new junior school lockers for delivery in time for the new term in September.
Committed to providing a secure, calm and happy learning environment, children are encouraged to reach their full academic potential. Stirchley caters for nursery children from age 3+ and infant/junior children ages 4-11 years.
The kids lockers needed to be of a certain height so small children can easily reach their locker and be suitable to store a small school bag, coat and other small personal items.
Solution
3D Lockers supplied a quantity of half height lockers with two doors, making them a perfect choice for younger children with a total locker height of 900mm. The lockers were ordered in nests of 3 meaning 3 of the lockers are joined together during the manufacturing process. Lockers cannot be split up once installed but purchasing lockers in nests is more cost effective and installation time is reduced.
Compartment sizes are 300mm wide x 300mm deep which is large enough to accomodate a coat, bag, mobile phone etc. Blue doors were chosen along with sloping tops which is a great idea to stop litter collecting above the locker and bags being dumped above causing the metal surface to damage.
Stirchley fitted the metal lockers on a wall mounted batten, painted in blue to match the wall colour, which raises the lockers above the floor to allow for cleaning access underneath.
