Skegness Junior Academy
Skegness Junior Academy based in Lincolnshire contacted 3D Lockers in the spring time with a requirement for new school lockers. The academy originally had corridors lined with traditional coat pegs for hanging coats, bags and personal items but they decided this was making certain areas look cluttered and messy.
3D Lockers went along to do a free site survey and measuring service so we could see exactly where and how many lockers could be fitted. The best way to keep the cost down when installing new school lockers is to nest lockers in as many threes as possible. This means that three lockers are joined together in manufacture and will also reduce the amount of time it will take to offload from the vehicle and install.

The Academy’s colours are black, light grey and purple and with this in mind 3D Lockers are able to offer non-standard ‘special’ door colours to match a specific colour scheme or logo at a small extra cost. The purple doors were painted in RAL 4001 which was chosen by the academy and matched the school colour theme perfectly. The lockers were supplied in a horizontal stripe pattern in blocks of black, purple and light grey to create a bold and eye-catching effect. Door colours can be randomly mixed to create a pattern, stripes or checker board effect at no extra cost.
Skegness ordered the lockers back in April but scheduled the delivery for the beginning of August so installation work could be carried out during the school holidays. Specially made brackets supplied by 3D Lockers were used to fix the lockers against the wall. This ensured any skirting boards or electrical cables were not in the way.
The new school locker installation has not only tidied up messy looking corridors but new space has been created which is now being turned into new library areas. The junior school lockers are ready to go for the start of the new school term in September.
