Golf Lockers for Pike Hills Golf Club

Golf Lockers for Pike Hills Golf Club

Pike Hills Golf Club in York approached 3D Lockers when the club needed to replace 90 existing golf lockers in its gents locker room. The old lockers had become antiquated and were no longer fit for purpose. The club needed a modern replacement that would provide members with enough room to securely store their golf equipment, clothing and personal belongings. The new golf lockers needed to accommodate large American golf bags, as well as golf shoes, a coat and other personal items.

3D Lockers worked with Pike Hills Golf Club throughout the project, from helping the club select a suitable locker through to quotation, delivery scheduling, installation and aftercare.

The Challenge

Pike Hills Golf Club needed to replace 90 old lockers with a new, practical storage solution for its members. Golf bags and equipment can require more storage space than standard personal belongings. In particular, the club needed lockers big enough to accommodate large American golf bags, with enough space to store shoes, clothing and personal items as well.  Before placing the order, the club wanted confidence that it was selecting the right product for the application.

The Solution

3D Lockers worked with Pike Hills Golf Club to select a suitable golf locker for its requirements. As part of this process, we were able to show the club examples of other golf clubs we have worked with, including Elland Golf Club. This helped the team to understand the available options and select the right locker to suit the type of equipment their members needed to store.

A total of 90 single-door golf locker compartments were supplied:

  • 40 x Nest 2 lockers

  • 10 x Nest 1 lockers

  • 90 compartments in total

  • 1800mm high x 450mm wide x 450mm deep

  • Blue steel doors

  • Light grey steel frames

  • Cam locks with two keys per door

  • Number plates and key fobs

  • Hanging rail and coat hooks in each locker

The 450mm-wide lockers provide the perfect size of space required for the golf bags. The combination of blue doors and light grey frames also gave the gents locker room a fresh and modern appearance.

Why These Golf Lockers Were Chosen

Pike Hills Golf Club selected the large 1800mm high x 450mm wide x 450mm deep lockers to accommodate the large American golf bags used by their members, alongside shoes, coats and personal belongings. Each compartment also includes a top shelf with hanging rail and coat hooks underneath, making it easier for members to organise coats and shoes. The steel construction is a practical option for a busy golf club changing environment. Individual cam locks give each member secure access to their own compartment. Two keys are supplied for every door. Number plates and key fobs also help with identifying lockers and everyday management.

Installation at Pike Hills Golf Club

Pike Hills Golf Club arranged the removal of its old lockers before the new lockers arrived, leaving the area ready for installation. 3D Lockers liaised directly with the club to agree a suitable delivery and installation date. On the day, our installation team was on site ready for the delivery vehicle. The team helped offload the lockers before moving them into the clubhouse and installing them within the gents locker room. The installation was completed in less than a day and, according to the club, caused minimal disruption. This coordinated approach meant Pike Hills had support throughout the process rather than simply having the metal golf lockers delivered to site.

The Results

The club was very pleased with both the lockers and the service it received throughout the project.

Ian at Pike Hills Golf Club commented:

“We were looking to replace 90 antiquated, not-fit-for-purpose Golf lockers at Pike Hils Golf Club, York, and 3D Lockers stood out immediately. Their website was clear, well-specified and transparent, with competitive pricing that made the decision easy. Once we placed the order, the team liaised with us throughout to make sure delivery and installation matched our requirements. Delivery arrived exactly as agreed, and the installers were on site promptly. The installation itself took less than a day and caused minimal disruption. A very professional service from start to finish. Highly recommended.”

Since the original installation, the club has told us that its members are delighted with their new lockers. Pike Hills Golf Club has also placed a further order with 3D Lockers for additional lockers and changing room benches for an extension to the men's locker room.

For us, the project demonstrates the value of providing a complete locker room solution. We helped Pike Hills select the right product, shared examples of previous golf club projects, provided a clear quotation, coordinated delivery and installation, and continued to support the club after the initial installation was complete.

Golf Locker FAQs

What should a golf club consider when choosing new lockers?

Start with what members actually need to store. Golf bags can vary in size, so locker dimensions are very important. It is a good idea to measure the actual golf bag first to get an idea on how much space you will need. It is also worth thinking about space for shoes, coats and other personal belongings. The lock option is also an important factor.

How wide should a golf locker be?

The right width depends on the golf bags and equipment your members use. For Pike Hills Golf Club, 450mm-wide lockers were selected because the club needed to accommodate large American golf bags alongside other belongings. Measuring up first before ordering helps ensure the lockers are suitable.

Are metal lockers suitable for golf clubs?

Metal lockers are an excellent choice for golf club changing rooms. They are available in different sizes, configurations, colours and locking options.

Should golf clubs choose single or multi-door lockers?

This depends on what each member needs to store. Where full-size golf bags, coats and other equipment need to be kept together, a larger individual compartment can be more practical than smaller multi-door storage. It also depends on the available changing room space.
